Oona Castilla Chaplin, a Spanish-Swiss actress, was born on June 4, 1986. She played Zilpha Geary in the series Taboo, Kitty Trevelyan in the BBC drama The Crimson Field, and Talisa Maegyr in the HBO television series Game of Thrones.

She is a Chaplin relative, the daughter of the actress Geraldine Chaplin, the granddaughter of the English actor and filmmaker Charlie Chaplin, and the great-granddaughter of the Irish-American poet Eugene O’Neill.

She was given the name Oona O’Neill in honor of her maternal grandmother, Charlie Chaplin’s fourth and last wife.

Chaplin has acted in primarily British and Spanish short and feature films since graduating from RADA. She has appeared alongside her mother in the motion pictures Anchor and Hope and Inconceivable Imago Mortis.

In both American and British television, she has also played supporting roles. She played a Brazilian cage dancer in the ITV series Married Single Other (2010); Marnie Madden, the wife of the show’s star Hector Madden; John Watson’s girlfriend in an episode of BBC’s Sherlock; and Talisa Maegyr in HBO’s Game of Thrones (2012–2013).

She plays Zilpha Geary in the historical fiction series Taboo on BBC One and FX.
